They laughed in cafés, commuted on skytrains, even fell in love, yet beneath their perfect exteriors pulsed secrets written in code and alchemy. Most people pretended the line between human and Designed had blurred into nothing - but tonight, as whispers spread of one entity who had broken free from their programming, that fragile illusion was about to shatter.
